Available 24/7 to all individuals, businesses and stakeholders within the FMPZ, the DSFM
(PZ) Helpdesk shows how municipal services countrywide could be working. It’s a central
nerve centre from which repairs, crime responses and ongoing maintenance are all coordinated.
HOW IT WORKS: Anyone in the PZ can call the Helpdesk to log a fault - e.g. a burst water pipe - or to request help, for instance when a crime occurs. Security-related calls are dealt with immediately, but all calls result in a logged entry and a plan of action. The original caller can phone the Helpdesk at any time to check the status of the problem they reported, by quoting their caller reference number. The Help desk system helps the municipal departments to have “eyes on the ground” and to take care of urgencies fast. It’s a system that really works... and if you’re reading this from within the PZ - it’s your system.
